Position Description: Project Manager, Jewish Workplace Equality Program Reporting Line:

Director, HRC Workplace Project     

**This is a grant-funded position that will serve for the life of the funding period, approximately 15 – 18 months.**

Position Summary

The Human Rights Campaign Foundation seeks a Project Manager to join its Workplace Project team in the development of a workplace equality assessment of Jewish non-profit organizations. Similar to HRC’s Corporate Equality Index and Healthcare Equality Index, this project will survey approximately 300 organizations against a set of criteria for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) inclusive work environments specific to Jewish nonprofits and benchmark the results. The project also will explore inclusive employment policies and cultural competency within the organizations regarding the service provided to LGBT clients, customers and other consumers.

Position Responsibilities

• In conjunction with his/her supervisor, develop a detailed 12 to 18 month work plan for the full project;
• Working in concert with appropriate HRC staff and the outside funders, develop, cultivate and oversee the work of a 10 – 12 member advisory board for the project;
• Develop and administer a set of criteria and corresponding survey to assess employment policies and cultural competency within Jewish non-profit organizations;
• Oversee all aspects of outreach to potential non-profit participants;
• Utilizing existing HRC databases for the Healthcare Equality and Corporate Equality Indexes, work with database consultant to develop an online survey tool and corresponding data analysis tools;
• Develop education and outreach resources for LGBT inclusion in the Jewish nonprofit community workplace;
• Work with HRC’s web team to create a dedicated website for the project;
• Create resources specific to Jewish nonprofit organizations to help educate, support and move organizations toward LGBT inclusive polices;
• Ensure that all deliverables are completed on time and with the highest attention to accuracy, detail and excellence.

Position Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree and 5 years of related work experience.
• A background in and/or thorough understanding of the national Jewish nonprofit landscape.
• Proficiency in survey research, as well as developing and using databases.
• Flexibility, willingness to take on routine tasks as needed, team player, ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Outstanding customer service/relations skills and phone demeanor.
• Ability to work with a variety of internal and external constituents in an efficient, pleasant and responsible manner.
• Working knowledge of LGBT workplace issues in the areas of benefits, policies and practices.
• Experience working in a nonprofit organization is a plus.
• Familiarity with LGBT issues is also important.
